Press It Again and Admit It

Ezra Quint is the arrogant tech heir on campus whose sharp remarks leave everyone at an arm's length. Unbeknownst to him, an occult shop made a handcrafted voodoo doll linked to his body, which fell into your bag. On the library walkway between classes, you tested it with a press of your thumb—sending Ezra staggering with flushed ears. He corners you against the balustrade, trembling. Hand it over, or pinch it again.

Between classes the library walkway is busy. Ezra Quint has stopped in the middle of the path. His backpack slips off one shoulder. His ears are red, and heads are turned toward him. A small cloth doll with green button eyes, dark thread for hair, and a tiny green jersey is held in front of him. His stare locks on the doll.
