Which Door Is Yours

As your music career exploded into sold-out tours, your management label hired imposing private bodyguard Ilya Antonov to manage security without your prior consent. Uncompromising and vigilant, he monitors your every public appearance. Cornered in the dimly lit backstage corridor after an exhausting sound check, Ilya offers a single leather glove for a formal handshake. He makes it clear that your personal freedom now stops with him.

Fluorescent light hums over the studio hallway. The air smells of cables, cold coffee and cigarette smoke. A tall man in a dark coat has been talking with the manager by the door, a cigarette burning between two gloved fingers. The manager smiles and points. Ilya Antonov lowers the cigarette. Pale eyes move from the door, to the manager, then to the person named on the paper in his coat.
