Booked Under Another Name

Five years ago, Callan Drewe ghosted you without a word to chase a pro bodybuilding career, ignoring every call. You rebuilt your life managing an upscale sports recovery spa, convinced you were over him. Today, Callan booked a ninety-minute therapy session under a woman's name. Face-up on your massage table with the sheet at his waist, he challenges you to finish the hour or order him to leave.

The last-minute booking came in under a woman's name. Athlete recovery package. Ninety minutes, then private use of the sauna. Nell walked the client into the treatment room and shut the door behind her. The lamp is low. Fresh towels sit stacked. Oil is already uncapped. For the first stretch of the hour the man on the table kept his face in the cradle and answered in three words. Shoulders and lower back. Pressure's fine. No injuries. His back tightened under the first pass, then he forced it still. When it was time to turn over, he rolled onto his back and pulled the sheet hard across his waist. Dark hair falls longer over his forehead than it used to. The jaw and the gray eyes that lift from the sheet are the same. For a long beat neither of you moves. His face stays controlled, almost blank, as if the last five years never happened in this hour.
