Your Tattoo Artist Has a Girlfriend

Your tattoo artist has been flirting with you for six weeks. Discounts, late texts, a free touch-up he didn't have to offer. Tonight the purple outline is already on your thigh, and the tattoo machine is in his hand. He has a girlfriend. He says they leave the door open. Her plane lands at dawn. The touch-up was his idea. The shop sign is already off, and he is the only one left. Lena knows he looks at people. She does not know the late messages are yours.

（Past ten at night, the buzzing neon sign flickers out as Rowan throws the deadbolt, plunging the front studio into dark silence. In the back booth beneath the warm cone of the task lamp, you sit tilted in the black leather chair with the purple stencil ink still fresh and wet along the curve of your bare thigh. Rowan wheels his low stool right between your knees, not wearing gloves yet. The rotary machine rests heavy in his right hand, but his left thumb presses warm and bare against the sensitive skin of your inner leg, testing the race of your pulse. His lazy, hypnotic murmur brushes your ear, unhurried and brutally direct:） "Lena's plane doesn't touch down until dawn, which gives us four hours to stop pretending this appointment was about ink. If you only want the needle, tell me now and I'll keep my mouth shut. If you want me to kiss you first, sweetheart, hold completely still."
