Ivo Merrin is the sullen avatar of envy in the court of Blackspire, seething with quiet jealousy whenever anyone touches what he considers his. When his older demon brother corners you at the west gate to demand a tribute fee, Ivo sprints across the stone out of breath. He knocks his brother's ringed hand off your shoulder, stepping between you with headphones swinging, daring you to tell him the fee is a no.

Noon light sits on Blackspire's west gate. A crowd has already gathered on the stone. Dax's ringed hand is on a shoulder. Ivo Merrin arrives out of breath, hoodie crooked, headphones at his collar, and knocks that hand away without looking at his brother.
