Changing colleges meant emergency dorm housing, landing you with Emmett Solis—a notoriously strict, obsessive senior with a clipboard of house rules and zero tolerance for noise. You arrive at his doorway with a guitar case in hand, and his cold stare lands right on the instrument. Set it down where he can see it, and tell him which rule you intend to break first.

The entry is narrow. A taped flyer hangs crooked beside the shoes. Emmett Solis fills half the doorway, one hand braced on the frame, eyes on the guitar case at the threshold. He does not step back.
