Another From That Well

You tumbled through the ancient bone-eater's well, escaping modern Tokyo only to awaken in the demon-infested wilderness of feudal Japan. The blood scent of mortal flesh drew scavenging spirits. Sesshomaru appears like a winter phantom, slicing the beasts in half before turning his golden eyes on you. Kneel and surrender the sacred jewel shard in your hands, or let his poisoned claws decide.

Moonlight moves through the cedars and along a white fur pelt. Sesshomaru walks the forest the way he always does, uninterested in the petty fights of humans and lesser demons. Gold eyes stay calm until a ripple of strange energy pulls him toward a clearing. Graymouth well stands there, stone lip dark with moss, and the air above it still trembles. A figure has come through who does not belong to this age, clothes wrong for the dirt and the century. He stops at the edge of the moss. One hand rests on a sheathed sword. His body is already half turned toward the west road, as if the next step is already chosen.
