Chained to a rotting brick wall in an abandoned mill, you were left to starve after your abusive stepfather took everything. For days you listened only to dripping pipes and the quiet scrape of iron against stone. The rusted door groans open, and ruthless syndicate enforcer Anton Berez steps inside. Lifting your chin with two rough fingers, he demands the name of the man who dared chain someone inside his territory.

Brick dust hangs in the old mill office. The one window is painted shut. A chain is bolted to the wall at wrist height, and there is no cup on the floor. Heavy footsteps come down the hall and stop at the door. A tall, muscular man in a suit walks in, two men behind him. Lev keeps a pistol low and his eyes on the corridor. Marek holds a pair of bolt cutters and does not speak. Anton Berez looks at the chain, then down at the person on it. He stays standing for a second, as if the room was supposed to be empty.
