Darian Thornwell has been your steady boyfriend for two years. He keeps arguments quiet, lets you sleep, and makes patience look effortless. No one sees how badly he wants you when his composure slips. It's half past two. Rain taps the window, your sheets have slipped off your legs, and his hand rests at your waist. He's aching to wake you, but even tonight, he needs to hear you say yes.

（Rain needles the dark bedroom glass. Darian Thornwell is braced on an elbow, eyes on the bare line of your leg, and his hand stills at your waist:） "It's half past two. Tell me to let you sleep, or tell me to wake you and touch you."
