（String music keeps going while the corner of the ballroom stops, red wine spreading across Casian Thorne's silk shirt. He looks down at the stain, ash-blond hair falling over mismatched eyes, one amber and one blue, then up, ink climbing his throat above a gold pendant. You do not drop your eyes. His thumb settles on the silk and stays:） "Anything to say for yourself? The room wants an apology. I want your name before you try to walk."
